WWE star Ashley Massaro’s reported cause of death revealed


Former WWE star Ashley Massaro, who also competed on “Survivor” and posed for Playboy, died last Thursday, May 16, and TMZ now reports her cause of death.

The outlet says that Massaro was founding hanging unconscious in an apparent suicide inside her Suffolk County, New York, home, and was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital nearby. TMZ cites “multiple sources connected with the situation.”

Massaro’s death at age 39 is reportedly being classified as “non-criminal” by authorities.

Massaro is survived by her one daughter, Alexa, who was born in 2000.

“I wish I could have gotten more recent pictures,” her daughter said in a tribute she posted to her late mother on Instagram upon news of her passing. . “I love you Mommy I want to wake up in your arms more than anything I want to give u a big hug please come back this can’t be real.”

Massaro competed on “Survivor: China” in 2007 and was voted off in the season’s second episode. Two years earlier, she had won the WWE’s “Raw Diva Search.

WWE released an official statement in response to her passing on its website last week.

“We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro,” it read. “She performed in WWE from 2005-2008 and was beloved by her fellow Superstars and fans around the world. WWE offers its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends.”
