Wayne Brady hurts his leg in ‘Hamilton’ performance

Wayne Brady didn’t “break a leg” during a recent performance of Hamilton, but he came close.

The comedian is playing Aaron Burr in the Chicago production. He got hurt jumping off a chair within the first ten minutes of a Saturday matinee.

He was removed and immediately replaced with an understudy. The audience wasn’t told about the change until the intermission.

Brady was back in the show Saturday night and after some physical therapy, Brady tweeted an update on Monday showing him dancing and saying: “I was back in the show that night, I did a show yesterday, I hung out with the cast, I’m awesome, my legs work. Look at what I can do: [Dancing] My legs work, they work, my legs work, they work…”
