It turns out laughing isn’t always the best medicine!

Charlize Theron stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday and revealed that the 2006 flick Borat landed her in the hospital for five days after her excessive laughter. To be fair, the 43-year-old actress had a herniated disc in her neck prior to seeing the movie, but Borat was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“A few of us went to go and see Borat and half way through that movie I laughed so hard that my neck locked up,” she told the host. “And, like, an ambulance had to take me to the hospital. And I was in the hospital for five days.”

“I didn’t finish the movie!” Theron lamented. “I’ve never, like, fully finished the movie.”

“Well, it’s a risk now!” Meyers quipped. “… I can’t believe they haven’t put that on the poster. I mean that is the highest praise you could ever give a movie.”

It’s not just raunchy comedies that have injured Theron in the past! The Atomic Blonde star also opened up about suffering some bodily damage thanks to her kids, August, 3, and Jackson, 7.

“It’s always shocking how much they can hurt you because they’re so little. They’re so little and yet they hurt me more than anything,” she said. “My favorite is when they sleep next to you and they’re fast asleep and they just viciously turn around and their elbows are like sharp knives.”

“I’ve had two nights where I woke up from a deep sleep with just tears and the sharp pain going through the middle of my head,” she continued. “I mean just, like, not knowing what to do with the pain. And they’re out, drooling on themselves! They have no idea that they basically physically assaulted you.”

Theron was also injury-prone on the set of her new flick, Long Shot, where she got hurt while getting dressed for a stunt.

“We had to do a small little action thing, like a tiny little thing, and this really nice stunt guy wanted to put some knee pads on me,” Theron recalled of the romantic comedy, which also stars Seth Rogen. “And as I sat down, just to put the knee pads on, my hand slipped and my head hit a bench behind me and I ended up in the ER. It was so stupid. I was like, ‘This is so embarrassing!'”

ET recently caught up with Theron at the premiere for Long Shot, in which she plays presidential hopeful Charlotte Field, who falls for an immature freelance journalist decades after she used to babysit him as a teenager. Though she’s certainly able to captivate a crowd through her speeches in the flick, in real life, Theron has a fear of public speaking.

“[I have] a horrible fear, yes, for sure,” she admitted. “It’s probably in the top two [most] horrible things you can ask me to do.”

“Well, we won’t ask you to do it!” Rogen chimed in, with a laugh.

Long Shot hits theaters May 3.
