General Cannabis Provides Update on Licensing Agreement with SC Labs and Highlights from West Coast Cannabis Expo

Newport Beach, California – October 12, 2011– General Cannabis, Inc. (OTCBB: CANA), a technology-based Internet marketing services company, today provided an update on WeedMaps Media’s partnership with SC Labs and highlights from the West Coast Cannabis Expo.
Since establishing a licensing agreement with SC Laboratories last month for cannabis testing services, WeedMaps Media has generated over 500 potency analysis or pesticide and microbiological contamination tests with pricing ranging from $60 to $395.
“Many dispensaries have enlisted the testing services of SC Labs through the WeedMaps.com portal in the short time since we announced our agreement,” said Brad Nelms, Vice President, Marketing of WeedMaps. “This agreement between two of the leading service providers in this industry will continue to bring credibility and transparency to the medical cannabis marketplace and provide patients with a better basis of knowledge when choosing their medicines.”
The Company also announced today that WeedMaps was the premier sponsor for the West Coast Cannabis Expo Music Festival, a medical cannabis lifestyle event held this past weekend in San Francisco. The event attracted an estimated 5,000 patients and included a three day speaker series and cannabis industry job fair.
Over 1,000 patients that attended the event are registered WeedMaps.com users, and over 500 of those existing users signed up for the WeedMaps daily deals program, a program that provides subscribers with discount coupons that can be used at participating dispensaries. WeedMaps promoted cannabis education at the event handing out 2,000 “Know Your Medicine” posters that advocate the need for Cannabinoid profiling and safety testing.
