Magnolia Solar has been developing its technologies over the last four years, and Dr. Sood intends to discuss Magnolia Solar’s accomplishments to date in development of high efficiency flexible solar cells for defense and commercial applications. He also intends to discuss Magnolia Solar’s nanostructure based antireflection technology that has applications in a variety of industries and highlight that the company has filed 15 patent applications to protect its innovative technologies, which are at different stages of evaluation by the US patent office.
Magnolia Solar’s nanostructure based antireflection coating technology reduces the sunlight refection loss on the solar panel when applied to the front glass. Magnolia has tested the performance of its nanostructured antireflection coating by integrating the antireflection coated film on the front glass of a silicon solar panel. The results show that Magnolia’s thin film enhances the annual power output of the solar panel from 6% to 12% depending on the geographic location and panel tilt angle.
