First American Financial Corp., a provider of title insurance and settlement services for real estate transactions based in Santa Ana.-Calif., said that Mark Oman has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.
Oman retired from Wells Fargo Co. in 2011, after working for the company for more than 30 years. He held a variety of management positions at the San Francisco-based financial institution, most recently as senior executive vice president and head of Wells Fargo’s home and consumer finance group.
During Oman’s tenure, Wells Fargo grew to be the largest originator of home mortgages in the U.S. According to figures compiled by NMN, Wells Fargo has $125.7 billion in total residential volume through the fourth quarter of 2012, the most among all lenders nationwide.
“Mark brings skills that are critical in our competitive and changing environment: a deep insight into the needs of our customers, extensive experience in the mortgage industry and a demonstrated history of leadership,” said Parker Kennedy, chairman of First American Financial Corporation in a press release. “Our ability to execute on our strategy to grow our core businesses and improve our customers’ experience has been greatly enhanced by the addition of Mark to our board.”
