Donna DeMaio, most recently the president and chief executive of MetLife Bank, has joined United Guaranty Corp. as its chief operating officer.
In her new role, she will oversee the mortgage insurer’s domestic and international sales, underwriting and loss management.
Other areas of responsibility include domestic marketing, communications, business analytics and business support for the company’s technology roadmap.
DeMaio joined MetLife Bank in 2002 as chief financial officer after serving as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She was promoted to president and CEO at MetLife Bank in 2005.
In December 2011, MetLife reached a deal with GE to sell the banking unit, the first in several moves to move out of the financial services business, which would eventually include exiting both the forward and reverse mortgage businesses.
UG had been searching for a new COO since February when Kim Garland was promoted to be its president and CEO.
