2 more debates set for RI congressional candidates

The Democratic candidates for the U.S. House will meet in radio and TV debates this week, ahead of the Sept. 11 primary.

Incumbent David Cicilline will face his challenger for the 1st district seat, businessman Anthony Gemma, in a live radio debate on WPRO-AM Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The winner of that race will face Republican Brendan Doherty, former head of the state police, in the Nov. 6 general election.

Cicilline and Gemma will meet again on Thursday for the second and final televised debate of the race, on WJAR-TV at 7:30 p.m.

Perennial candidate Christopher Young has also been invited to that debate.
