Rhode Island’s two congressmen have been raising money for the 2012 Congressional races.
Reps. Jim Langevin and David Cicilline, both Democrats, have reported their fundraising results for the first quarter, which ended March 31.
Cicilline is serving his first term in the 1st District, and still has $89,000 in debt from an expensive primary and general election last year. He reports that he raised $138,000 in the quarter, leaving him with about $78,000 cash in his campaign account.
Langevin, who did not face a serious challenger last year in the 2nd District, raised about $112,000, leaving his account with more than $182,000 cash on hand.
No candidates have yet declared that they plan to take on Cicilline or Langevin.
