ATTLEBORO, Mass. —
Attleboro City Council is taking a close look at a little piece of road: the west end of Scott Street.
Council members are trying to figure out whether it’s a safety hazard or whether it improves traffic safety. They’re thinking about closing it.
The section of street runs between the southbound side of Route 1 and Westminster Avenue.
Some say drivers use it to cut through the neighborhood, avoiding a stoplight on the main route.
Others argue that blocking it could cause a traffic backup.
