Chafee names 5 nominees to RI coast council

Gov. Lincoln Chafee has announced five nominees to the board responsible for preserving, protecting, developing and restoring Rhode Island’s coastal regions.

Nominee to the 16-person Coastal Resources Management Council announced Thursday are: Tony Affigne, Raymond Coia, Guillaume de Ramel, Michael Hudner and Anne Livingston.

Affigne replaces Michael Tikoian, who is leaving the council after 17 years to take a position on Rhode Island’s Board of Governors for Higher Education. Tikoian currently chairs the council’s board, and the governor will choose a replacement after the nominees are approved by the state Senate.

Coia is a reappointment, while de Ramel and Livingston are filling vacant seats. Hudner replaces Robert Driscoll, whose term has expired.
