EMA spokesman to leave job

The spokesman for Rhode Island emergency officials is leaving his job.

Steve Kass said in a statement on Thursday that his last day on the job at the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency is Friday.

He said the General Assembly did not fund his position this year.

Kass said he will do some fill-in hosting on WPRO radio beginning Monday on “The Dan Yorke Show.”

He also said he will volunteer to further special programs he helped launch in Rhode Island, including the Student Tools for Emergency Planning for Elementary Children.
