CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Rhode Island Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts has broken her arm while visiting Charlotte, N.C., during the Democratic National Convention.
The Providence Journal reports that Roberts appeared at the convention on Thursday morning with her left arm in a sling. She told fellow delegates she tripped in the street.
Roberts leads the state’s healthcare reform commission, which is responsible for helping the state implement the federal health care overhaul.
The newspaper reports she joked that her visit to the emergency room was part of her continuing study of health care issues.
