PAWTUCKET, R.I. —
One more step is complete on work to re-build the Pawtucket River Bridge.
The second span of the new Pawtucket River Bridge could be open as early as Friday. This will allow workers to start shifting Interstate-95 South to the new span and completely lift the bridge’s 18-ton weight limit.
This will mean lane closures Thursday night and drivers won’t have access to Exit 27 in downtown Pawtucket.
The bridge is expected to open in mid-2013.
