WASHINGTON—Today, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced that Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) will deliver the Weekly Republican Address on Saturday, August 6. Following his week of town halls throughout the state of Georgia, in the address, Rep. Carter will discuss House Republicans’ Better Way agenda to tackle the biggest challenges facing America, like implementing a patient-centered health care system.
“The message I continue to hear across Southeast Georgia remains the same—people are frustrated with a broken Washington, and I stand with them,” said Rep. Carter. “Georgians and Americans across the country deserve a better way, which is why I hosted events across the district this week to share our agenda and hear from the people I am proud to represent. Together, we will tackle our greatest challenges and get Washington back on track.”
“Voicing what you’re against isn’t enough—you have to back it up with what you’re for, and what you’ll do to fix our nation’s challenges,” said Speaker Ryan. “Buddy has done that by taking our ideas straight to his constituents in Georgia and hearing what they have to say in return. I’m looking forward to hearing about those conversations in his address this week, and continuing to work toward a better way for all Americans.”
Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter is a businessman, healthcare professional, and faithful public servant. As the owner of Carter’s Pharmacy, Inc., South Georgians have trusted Rep. Carter with their most valuable assets: their health, lives, and families for more than thirty years. While running his business, he learned how to balance a budget and create jobs. He also saw firsthand the devastating impacts of government overregulation, which drives his commitment to ensuring that the federal government creates policies to empower business instead of increasing burdens on America’s job creators.
