The Hill: “GOP keeps focus on ObamaCare repeal”
“House Republicans this weekend are keeping their focus on efforts to do away with President Obama’s signature healthcare reform law. … Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.), the sponsor of the bill who delivered Saturday’s address, said her proposal is a common-sense solution to fighting fraud. … Black’s bill is a response to a rule, issued in July by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), that gives state-run health insurance exchanges some flexibility when considering who qualifies for the federal help.”

CBS News: “GOP pans ObamaCare subsidies’ ‘honor system’”
“In this week’s address, Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., touted a bill passed by the House this week that would prevent the government from issuing insurance subsidies to people under Obamacare until it has ‘a system in place to prevent fraud’ by verifying consumers’ income levels. … The Senate Appropriations Committee in July approved a measure urging the government to ‘verify annual household or individual income prior to making available premium tax credits’ under Obamacare…”

CNN: “Republicans tackle ObamaCare as the clock ticks down”
“…Republicans again went after the president’s signature health care law in their weekly address on Saturday.  Rep. Diane Black, R-Tennessee, highlighted her bill, ‘No Subsidies Without Verification Act,’ which was passed by the House this week…  Black argued the Obama administration is relying on ‘the honor system’ rather than a true verification system.”

ABC News Radio: “Finding ‘Patient-Centered’ Solutions for Health Care”
“In this week’s Republican Address, Rep. Diane Black of Tennessee calls attention to a ‘hot spot for fraud and abuse in the president’s health care law.’  As author of the House-passed “No Subsidies Without Verification Act,’ Black is calling for the Democrat-controlled Senate to get onboard with trying to stop health care subsidies from being given out without verifying who’s eligible.  Black, a registered nurse for more than 40 years, says things that patients and their families care about – ‘their doctors, their plans, the cost of their care’ — all come ‘under siege’ in Obamacare.”

UPI: “GOP: Unverified health insurance subsidies ‘open door’ to fraud, abuse”
The lack of verification for who can get federal subsidies for health insurance ‘opens the door a mile wide’ to abuses, a Republican House member said Saturday. … The bill, which she wrote and the House passed this week, requires a system be set up to prevent fraud and abuse before any subsidies are given out.”

Associated Press: “In the Republican address, Tennessee Rep. Diane Black urged the Senate to pass a bill to prevent fraud and abuse in Obama’s health care law.
