The National Retail Foundation (NRF) Annual Convention EXPO continues today in New York City, where Microsoft is showcasing how its technology helps retailers enhance and personalize the shopping experience while operating more efficiently and effectively.
Matthew Gaines, director of technology at sandwich company ‘wichcraft, shares an excellent example in his guest post on the Office 365 blog today. Moving to the cloud with Office 365 allowed ‘wichcraft to save valuable time and resources, which Gaines used to launch a new loyalty platform and implement tools to engage customers through social media. And when Hurricane Sandy struck New York City in October, the company’s cloud-based server environment kept the business running with minimal interruption. “Prior to migrating to Office 365, our data center would have been under water, and our business would have ground to a halt,” Gaines writes.
